Dave developed his own hand cream after others failed him. Lisa also encouraged him to create a lip balm.

Skin Salvy® ("savvy") is a family operated, woman owned micro business. We personally make, package, label, and ship all of our products from Ham Lake, MN. Dave developed the dry skin formula out of desperation and for personal use in 2007. For years, he had been using a well-known, dermatologist recommended cream that he constantly reapplied throughout the day (hourly). One of the key ingredients was petrolatum, a cheap ingredient common in many skin care products. Over time the creases in his hands developed deep, dry, painful cracks because the cream no longer worked. We visited many stores in search of a product that would work with the body’s natural healing process. Many of the natural lotions and creams were not protective enough and the salves were too greasy. Although it isn't a cure, with daily use after bathing, his dry skin is manageable! We never realized so many people would have a similar story to share and this would develop into a business. Unfortunately we don't have "before" photos of Dave's hands and of course he won't let them go back to the way they were.
