Jojoba Uses and Tips
Note from Lisa, owner of Skin Salvy. |
What is Jojoba?

The jojoba ("ho-ho-ba") shrub produces seeds that when pressed produces a liquid wax very similar to the body's natural skin oils and does not clog pores. Because jojoba is not an oil, it will not go rancid and will remain fresh indefinitely with normal use. A little bit goes a long way making this a very cost effective product.
We use only 100% certified organic jojoba that is 1st expeller pressed. No chemicals are ever used and you receive the best quality possible.

Jojoba Uses
Skin Conditioning
The best time to apply any moisturizer is immediately after washing the skin. Start with a few drops and add more as desired. Great for face and body. For more depth, add a few drops of vitamin E.
Makeup Removal
Helps to remove traces of eye makeup and mascara and conditions the delicate skin and eyelashes at the same time. Gently massage the makeup off with fingertips and tiny bit of jojoba.
Condition Hair and Dry Scalp
Massage a small amount of jojoba into scalp and apply throughout hair evenly. Leave on hair for 20-30 minutes, shampoo. You may need to shampoo a second time depending on the amount of jojoba used.
Stronger, Healthier Nails
Rub a small amount into cuticles daily.
After sun care
For mild to moderate sunburn, apply a few drops of jojoba onto the skin. For best results, mix pure aloe vera with a few drops of jojoba and apply to the skin.

Lisa's Skin Care Routine
- Wash face with a gentle, all natural soap. Many regular soaps have toxic, irritating chemicals. Your local food co-op is a great resource.
- For added exfoliation, I use a clean washcloth to gently wash my face. This helps remove the surface dead skin cells.
- Start with a few drops of organic jojoba and smooth over the face. In the summer this is all my skin requires. In the winter I add vitamin E (sold in stores) to add more depth to the jojoba. Jojoba helps to deep cleanse the pores as well as condition the skin. If your skin feels oily, you've used too much jojoba. It takes very little.
*Drink lots of water - I prefer reverse osmosis filtered water that doesn't contain chlorine or fluoride.
*Eat lots of healthy greens and vegetables - organic whenever possible to eliminate pesticides and increase vitamin content.
*Limit caffeine, carbonated beverages, and sugar. At least for me these are skin irritants, especially when I don't drink enough water.
